70 days. Helianthus annuus. Annual. Open Pollinated. Skyscraper Sunflower. This very tall plant produces heavy yields of sunflower seeds. It can grow up to 12 ft tall. The yellow flowers are humongous. When the backs turn yellow, cut the flower, and let it dry upside down. The seeds are edible and great for roasting. At the end of the season, watch for goldfinches, who love the seed! This plant attracts bees, butterflies, and birds. Perfect for planting along a row of fences or alongside a house or barn.
