85 days. Capsicum annuum. Open Pollinated. Bolivian Rainbow Pepper. The plant produces good yields of small ¾" long by ½" wide Piquin peppers. Peppers are hot, grow upright, have thin flesh, and turn from purple, to cream-yellow, to orange, to red when mature. The plant has green stems with purple tint, green leaves with purple tint, and purple flowers. A beautiful ornamental pepper plant with all color stages on the plant at the same time. The peppers are edible. Excellent drying pepper for making seasoning powder. Suitable for containers. A variety from Bolivia. Scoville Heat Units: 29,500.

Hot Pepper Seed Planting Information:

Some hot pepper varieties come from tropical humid regions and some varieties come from dry desert regions. The temperature, moisture, and air circulation all play a role in growing plants from seeds. Too little heat, too much moisture, and lack of air circulation will cause poor results. Do not use jiffy peat pots, plugs, or potting soil as the soil becomes too dry or too wet, which can lead to disease and fungus. We have experienced disease and low germination when using these types of products. Use Miracle Gro Seed Starting Material for best germination results. Plants can grow 1 to 7 ft tall.

Soil Requirements:

Requires fertile soil in a well drained location in the garden. Apply much and grass clippings, or straw around base of plant.

Water Requirements:

Water well with soaker hoses during dry and hot spells.

Fertilizer Requirements:

Use RootBlast, Vegetable Alive, and Slow Release Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle Gro every two weeks.

Harvest Tips:

Harvest hot peppers when they are fully mature using a garden scissor so you don't damage the plant. Pick peppers as they mature to encourage new buds to form.

I have a beautiful bush with colorful peppers on it. The peppers speak for themselves, as they are very hot. Spices up the rice dishes and sauces. Excellent for HOT dishes.

Beautiful plant. Peppers are hot. Pretty small but as they are so potent you won't need many for cooking.

Great ornamanental pepper! Very nice to look at. It has different colors. It is nice to give away as a gift. Taste, there's nothing special.
