Robinia pseudoacacia. Open Pollinated. The plant produces a beautiful hardwood shade tree. Fragrant white flowers in the spring make it very attractive. Used for medical purposes, as a laxative, antispasmodic, and diuretic. British colonists used timber from these trees to build houses. The wood is extremely hard, being one of the hardest woods in Northern America. It is very resistant to rot. It is used for making furniture, flooring, paneling, fence posts, and small watercraft. Excellent for landscaping projects. A variety from the USA.
