Radicchio Seed Planting Information: Radicchio can be harvested between December and April in the south. It requires a long cool growing season. You can have successive plantings throughout the year. Plant in August for fall and winter harvest. In the South, you can plant as late as October for winter harvest. To ensure a crop, cut the plant to the ground in early fall so that the dark red heads can form. For spring planting, plant seeds 30 days before the last frost, and 70 days before the first autumn frost for a fall crop. Plants can grow 12 - 18" tall. |
