Planting Instructions: Sprinkle seeds thinly in March or April in a fine seed starting soilless mix.
Soil Facts: Requires well-prepared soil. Use general-purpose fertilizer when preparing the soil.
Germination: 14-21 days at 75°F
Sow seeds thinly in 8-10 weeks (in March or April) before the last frost. Sprinkle seeds thinly in soilless mix. Press seeds into moist mix and keep moist until plants emerge in 2-3 weeks. Transplant to plug trays when true leaves emerge.
Apply mulch, grass clippings, straw, pine needles, or plastic around the base of the plant. Work the soil thoroughly before planting. They prefer moist soil. They grow best in nutrient-rich soil with a pH of 6–6.5.
Water at least 1 inch a week.
Use Slow Release (6 Month) Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle-Gro Liquid Fertilizer every two weeks.
When they are ready to harvest, they should be slightly firm to the touch, cut the berry off at the stem of the plant. Do not pull the berry from the stem to harvest it. Unwashed strawberries can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.
