1988 All-America Selections Winner! 85 days. Capsicum annuum. (F1) Super Chili Pepper. The plant produces high yields of 1 ½" long by ½" wide hot peppers. Peppers grow upright in clusters, are very hot, and turn from light green to red when mature. The plant has green stems, green leaves, and white flowers. The plant produces 3 times as many peppers as regular chile peppers. Excellent when used in Thai, Szechwan, and Asian dishes. A variety from the USA.

Hot Pepper Seed Planting Information:

Some hot pepper varieties come from tropical humid regions and some varieties come from dry desert regions. The temperature, moisture, and air circulation all play a role in growing plants from seeds. Too little heat, too much moisture, and lack of air circulation will cause poor results. Do not use jiffy peat pots, plugs, or potting soil as the soil becomes too dry or too wet, which can lead to disease and fungus. We have experienced disease and low germination when using these types of products. Use Miracle Gro Seed Starting Material for best germination results. Plants can grow 1 to 7 ft tall.

Soil Requirements:

Requires fertile soil in a well drained location in the garden. Apply mulch, grass clippings, or straw around the base of the plant.

Water Requirements:

Water well with soaker hoses during dry and hot spells.

Fertilizer Requirements:

Use Slow Release (6 Month) Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle Gro Liquid Fertilizer every two weeks.

Harvest Tips:

Harvest hot peppers when fully mature using garden scissors, so you don't damage the plant. Pick peppers as they mature to encourage new buds to form.

My local store carried these last year and they are perfect size and flavor. They even have some sweetness so they can also be used for pickling, soups, sauces. I used about eight for a gallon of Chili and it was perfect heat, a tingle to the lips and throat with a nice even burn to them

I am so glad to find these..been looking for two years. They are awesome pickled [no sugar] using recipe in Ball Book. One or two in a deli style sandwich or serve with roast beef. I can them mixing yellow, red, and the in between orange stage and they are so beautiful in the jar to give them as a gift.
