Cress is a curly leaf plant and belongs to a different class of vegetable than watercress. Cress is grown like lettuce and spinach. Cress does not do well in very hot weather. You can have successive plantings throughout the year. Plant in August for fall harvest. Cress seeds are usually planted directly in the garden. Plants grow 3 - 12" tall.
Requires fertile soil in a well drained location in the garden. Apply much and grass clippings, or straw around base of plant.
Keep soil consistently moist. Water well during dry and hot spells.
Use RootBlast, Vegetable Alive, and Slow Release Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle Gro every two weeks.
You can cut leaves as you need them if you want the plant to produce more leaves, or you can cut the entire plant at ground level.
