For the last five years, after growing and tasting many tomato varieties, the main tomatoes I have grown are this Brandywine and the related  Quisenberry Brandywine strain.  Our local farmer's market offers only Red Brandywine, which cannot compete.  My husband and I just cannot do without these strains, so I grow them.  Most late summer evenings we have these tomatoes sliced on toast, sometimes with pesto or EVOO, for a wonderful light supper.  The fruits are huge and even with less than ideal sun, my yield is always extraordinary.  This year, I am growing only these varieties.

Out of the 18 different varieties of tomato plants I grew this year, brandywine sudduth produced the most and tasted the best.
