If you can kill plastic house plants you can still grow this. I planted this once in the late 80's and harvested all I need since. Just saw the fist of them popping up for the 2012 season. Readily seeds itself if allowed to go to seed. Every year I just pull up what I don't want to grow.Looks great in the flower beds too. I use the leaves as an herb and as an accent in salads. The only reason it gets only 4 stars is that there are some better tasting basils out there but none as pretty and it is hard to completely get rid of if you ever allow it to go to seed.
