1994 All-America Selections Winner! 85 days. Lavandula angustifolia. Perennial. Open Pollinated. The plant produces blue-green foliage and very beautiful and aromatic dark purple flowers. This is an improved compact version that attracts bees. Makes an excellent ornamental hedge. Used in bouquets, sachets, and perfumes. Tender stalks are sometimes used in salads. The flowers and leaves are also edible. Used to repel moths, mosquitoes, and gnats. Blooms the first year from seed! Suitable for containers. An excellent choice for home gardens.
