85 days. Capsicum annuum. Open Pollinated. NuMex Heritage 6-4 Pepper. The plant produces good yields of 7" long by 2" wide Anaheim hot peppers. This is an improved variety of the NuMex 6-4 with a consistent medium heat level. The plant yields 10% more peppers than the old NuMex 6-4 and has 5 times more flavor compounds. Peppers are medium-hot and turn from green to red when mature. The plant has green stems, green leaves, and white flowers. A perfect variety for frying, stuffing, or using fresh green or dried red. Hot Pepper Seed Planting Information:

Some hot pepper varieties come from tropical humid regions and some varieties come from dry desert regions. The temperature, moisture, and air circulation all play a role in growing plants from seeds. Too little heat, too much moisture, and lack of air circulation will cause poor results. Do not use jiffy peat pots, plugs, or potting soil as the soil becomes too dry or too wet, which can lead to disease and fungus. We have experienced disease and low germination when using these types of products. Use Miracle Gro Seed Starting Material for best germination results. Plants can grow 1 to 7 ft tall.

Soil Requirements:

Requires fertile soil in a well drained location in the garden. Apply much and grass clippings, or straw around base of plant.

Water Requirements:

Water well with soaker hoses during dry and hot spells.

Fertilizer Requirements:

Use RootBlast, Vegetable Alive, and Slow Release Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle Gro every two weeks.

Harvest Tips:

Harvest hot peppers when they are fully mature using a garden scissor so you don't damage the plant. Pick peppers as they mature to encourage new buds to form.

1 st year I have grown this. Stunning Chili pepper. Surprisingly uniform. Great yields. Most of the peppers were fairly strait and 2 ribbed which made them flatter and easier to roast or dry. Will collect seeds and plant for next year. Will compare to seeds planted from Reimer also.
